We are really pleased to announce the first event in our new online global seminar series, which takes place on 1 June from 12 to 1 PM (BST). Professor Catriona Pennell, Professor Dan Todman (co-editors) and Urvi Khaitan (contributor) will discuss the recent open access special issue in War and Society, 'Marginalised Histories of the Second World War' (https://www.tandfonline.com/toc/ywar20/39/3). As well as the impetus behind the special issue and its contents, the round table will address the questions it raises about commemoration and how the war has been remembered as well as how to research and write histories that have been marginalised. The panelists will speak for thirty minutes allowing plenty of time for discussion and questions on both the special issue (available open access at the link above) and on the roundtable. The session will be recorded.
The event is free but booking is essential. Please book at the link below. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/marginalised-histories-of-the-second-world-war-tickets-153120644971
If you aren't able to attend live, but have a question you would like the panelists to address regarding the special issue or for further information, please email Dr. Jean Smith (jean.smith@kcl.ac.uk).
